1). What is departures.co.uk?
Departures.co.uk is an online service which allows you to look for and browse through flight connection between your departure location and your desired destination. It gives you the possibility to check the offers of all major airlines in the world and choose the cheapest or the most convenient connection.
2). How does it work?
Very easy. All you need to do is to provide us with the information about where you want to go, choose a departure location, your preferable dates and indicate whether it’s supposed to be a single or return ticket. Once you’ve got all this figured out, click ‘search’ button to see the offers. If you want to book a certain connection, clik ‘select’ button and you will be redirected to the carrier’s site, where you can finalize your booking. Sometimes, when there are no direct flights, more than one booking will be necessary.
3). Where can I book my tickets?
Departures.co.uk is just a search engine. We do not sell tickets. In order to book a ticket, you will have to go to a particular airline’s website. You can go there by clicking on ‘select’ button or ‘go to [airline’s name]’ link.
4). Some of the results come with the next “2 bookings” or “3 bookings”. What does it mean?
It means that in order to get from point A to point B, you will have to make several bookings, and not just one. Usually, it allows you to save more money.
5). How much do I have to pay for the service?
Nothing. The flight search engine is completely free of charge. Feel free to use it as often as you wish.
6). I clicked on a flight offer, but there is no price. What’s wrong?
We do what we can to make the whole searching process as simple as possible to you. That’s why we try to include the ticket prices for every offer, but sometimes it is not possible. If that happens, you are always given information about where to go (“go to [airline’s name]”) to find out about the prices. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
7). Does the price include all the charges?
Yes. The prices given next to flight offers are always for one adult, and they include all taxes, fees and airport charges. To find out the ticket prices for children and babies, go to a particular carrier’s website.
8). Is it safe to travel by plane?
Yes, of course it is. In fact, aircrafts are considered the safest and most reliable means of transportation. However, to increase the feeling of safety, remember to always adhere to aircraft and ground crew’s instructions and remember about the regulations concerning your baggage.
9). Is it safe to travel by plane when pregnant?
Yes. It is considered safe to travel by air up to 32nd week of pregnancy. Provided the pregnancy develops normally, there is no contraindication to travelling by plane. However, if you travlled by air during the last month of your pregnancy, there could be a risk that a baby will be born prematurely. 10). What are the things I’m not allowed to take on board?
You are not allowed to bring any firearms, knives, daggers, explosive materials, some sport equipment, flammable equipment and other dangerous articles. As it was mentioned earlier, Departure.co.uk does not deal with selling tickets, or any related problems the users may have when booking. That's why, users experiencing any problems with booking or cancelling tickets are advised to turn to a specific vendor directly.
13). How do I find cheap flight connections?
The earlier you look for tcikets, the more likely you are to find some really huge discounts. Remember that flights don't operate on a daily basis, so it would be a nice idea to check for various dates, especially in the middle of the week.
