The places abounds in magnificent beaches – there are over 25 of them – far away from the hubbub of city life.

The beaches especially recommended are Mangapwani, Matemwe, Pwani Mchangani, Kiwengwa, Uroa, Jambiani and Bwejuu. The place is also surrounded with numerous little islands – ideal for one-day trips. Another thing which symbolizes Zanzibar, are Aldabra giant tortoises.
